Masters degree studies will soon be possible at the University of Rostock. They will be parallelled by the current "Diplom" studies. This page will present actual information as soon as available.
In order to keep pace with the international globalization, Germany has introduced Bachelors and Masters degrees to their universities some time ago. These academic degrees have been adopted from the Anglo-American educational systems in addition to the German Diplom and Magister degrees so that an international compatibility could be obtained in most subjects. This was meant to encourage mainly foreign students to study in Germany but also to make it easier for German students to study abroad and to start their career at an international level. After six or seven semesters you may attain a Bachelors degree. After three or four additional semesters you may be granted a Masters degree which is equivalent to a Diplom degree.
